Port Klang - Restoran Tian Lee Revisit

In my earlier article on Tian Lee, I got there late and didn't have a chance to try the much talked about balitong, so I revisited this place again. This time, I got there before 8pm, the balitong is available but the wait is another 45 mins again! What a popular place!

While waiting we ordered the ikan bakar from the shop opposite, we had a fish and a plate of sotong. The fish is really good, slightly crispy skin covered with chili paste while the flesh is just nice served with good dipping chili. The sotong is bbq with thick curry like sauce on banana leaves. The fish is RM16 while the sotong is RM11. Fish is ok but sotong is too expensive.

Anyway, 45 mins later, dinner is finally here, since some of buddies first time there, so I ordered the mee mamak for them to try again, this time they didn't cook it to the killer spicy level and its a lot more nicer than the last. RM8 for a reasonable plate. Then came the siew pak choy which are quite tasty actually.

Next are the balitong we been talking about but there is only 1 problem, its hot and spicy and you have to suck it. Before the balitong comes out, you are already taking all the chili, these caused our lips to be burning hot, so we had to ordered quite a bit of drinks to counter this effect. End of the day, we got all filled with water more than balitong! But, I would say its quite fun to eat the balitong! Its spicy yet a little sweet. A big plate of balitong cost RM12.

Last are some fried rice with some fried pork as topping, these are really good at RM8 per plate too. We ordered their famous kum heong crabs but took too long to come and we are already filled with water!

Its worth visiting but expect to wait long! But the mee mamak is unique here and the balitong is quite fun too ;)
