Kota Kemuning - Restoran Ah Yeh Village Chef (Po Lao Heong)

This is a new place KC decided to try yesterday as I joined him and family for dinner. I decided to blog about this place because I find the food to be good and value for money, but expect long wait.

Its known as Restoran Ah Yeh Village Chef but owned by Restoran Po Lao Heong... not sure which is which but doesn't matter, the food here are good. I ordered a lai yau kum fung fish (buttered fried talapia) just like what I had at Tapah recently to compare. Their version here is better with more sauce, fish are crisped with a yummy sauce to go with it, especially because they have added small dried shrimps to it.

The lady whom took the order recommended their satay yau yi (cuttlefish) which are just like the normal cuttlefish kang kung we are used to. The different thing about the one they serve here are the sauce, which I was told is being prepared by boiling potato then blending it to make the sauce. The sauce is peanuty and a nice sour taste from lime I supposed. Is really appetizing and different from the norm, high recommended.

The rest are vegetables and a tofu which is normal. Total bill came to RM54.00, not bad at all! No wonder the wait is so long as it is fully occupied!

Kota Kemuning - Makan Makan

This is a tong shui and chinese "siu sek" (light meal) place in Kota Kemuning. It serves desserts like red bean soup, mak chuk, hak loh mai, etc. A varieties of light food from toast to kuih are also available here with additional of noodles like curry mee.

I was here for tea and tried their loh bak koh with a bowl of red bean while ah Choo who was with me had a bowl of hak loh mai soup. The red bean is ok but I like the loh bak koh which is served with crispy fried dried small prawns (har mai) and shallots. Pricing is average here, ok place for tea.

Kota Kemuning - Sunday Ride to MCF

Its was a beautiful Sunday morning and the weather is cooling, so I decided to take my MTB out for a ride since I need to test it after tuning it yesterday at the shop. The bike felt much better but it start to drizzle as I leave home but luck is on my side, as I go further, the weather got better. I took a big round cutting to the back of KK and into the park area opposite the shops. I passed by this park so many times, but I guess when you are driving, you basically just speed by and don't bother about the scenic view. So, I stopped to enjoy the view, dream that the big bungalow by the lake for sale will be mine soon and snaps some shoots :P





















I was rounding the shops in KK for breakfast and decided to stopped at Restoran MCF. Passed by this place a lot of times but never tried. So I parked the bike up front and went in, turns out they are selling all sort of mee hoon, mainly with fish. They also serve it with prawns, roast pork and all sort of varieties. Price is not cheap, cheapest is about RM6 for a bowl of mee hoon with fish, but the serving are generous.

Since I just had seafood the night before, I decided to go with roast pork. It comes in 2 bowls, first one are dried mee hoon top with roast pork and fried pork lard. Accompanying it is a bowl of vege in stock soup. Its not bad, but a little dry and I told myself I should have just order the fish one which everyone is eating, hehehe... overall is ok, I think I should be back to try the fish one. Its basically soup mee hoon served with 2 piece of deep fried fish.













As I got home, all tired and ready to just drop dead, my dog stared at me and reminds me that he needs his walk... arghh... so here's a video of him at the park ;). So many things in 1 Sunday morning :)

Kota Kemuning - Sitr Fried Pan Mee

In Kota Kemuning, at Jalan Anggerik Vanila 31/R (who in MBSA think of such road name???) in Shah Alam, there's a Pan Mee Restaurant that specialized in Pan Mee. As we usually know there are the soup based and dry pan mee. This place however, have became a little creative and is offering Pan Mee in Curry, Hokkien Fried Pan Mee and my favourite Stir Fried Pan Mee.

As the pan mee itself is quite hard, unless you have good and soft pan mee, it would definitely not taste good frying it. This place proved that wrong with its Pan Mee version of char keoy teow. The pan mee is fried just like the usual keoy teow, you have eggs, pork, cockles, crispy pork lard, taugeh, prawns, etc. The noodles are soft like keoy teow and is able to absorb the taste yet filling and good. Its RM5.50 (5% service charge applies) per plate, a little on the high side but worth eating once in a while.

The hokkien fried one is not bad as well but the rest are normal to me. They have serve a good variety of snacks, side dishes and drinks. Environment is quite and relaxing, good place to hang out plus ample of parking!
