Bandar Sri Menjalara - De Foodland Seafood, Crap House!

Yeah, its friday and its crabbing time, this time makan kaki Jason brought us to Bandar Sri Menjalara for some big yummy meat crabs. According to it's website, this place was first opened in an industrial area in Kepong in the year 1999 as a road side stall famous for the creamy butter crab. They then started to have 24 types of crab dishes and hence being nicknamed "Ya Sei Mei" (24 kind). See their website for more info on them.

Before dinner starts, Jason packed (da bao) some very delicious roast chicken wings for us and thank you to the table for saving me one, monsters on my table just whacked everything :P

Jason helped us to pre-ordered 6kg of big crabs for 2 tables, which cost about RM40 per kg. A little costly compare to most places but we were convinced that the good food there is worth it! For the crabs, we had them cooked in 2 different dishes, first is their all time famous creamy butter crabs and the other is the hot and spicy crabs.

The creamy butter crabs ( 招牌湿奶油蚧) is no doubt excellent, good balance of cream and butter, not too oily and the sauce goes great with some deep fried buns. No doubt kudos to their famous crab dish, very well done and cooked. Crab meat are just nice, cooked just right.

The hot and spicy crabs ( 辣子蚧) is quite ok, but I felt that the spicy taste is a bit too heavy (taste like ginger) and would have been great if its more balance. So obviously everyone walloped the cream y butter first :D

Besides the highlights, we also ordered other dishes to go with our rice, first up is the "Sei Tai Tin Wong" or simply known as the four heavenly kings ( 四大天王). Basically its egg plant, long beans, petai (stink beans) and lady fingers. Unfortunately, the petai are missing, so we were debating which of the four heavenly kings have retired :P. However, the vege is still good with a strong and good belacan paste (shrimp paste).

Next up are some clams or lala in stir fried "kum heong" style (金香啦啦). The taste is ok but the lala are superbly tiny, so mostly are shells and very little flesh. We also ordered the minced meat tofu ( 肉碎豆腐) which is basically fried tofu cover with a minced meat sauce, that's very yummy and is excellent to take with rice.

Total bill for the dinner comes up to about RM 425.10 for about 16 persons but look at the faces of the gang, you know its worth it ;)
